Navigating Generative AI: Responsible and Critical Use in Academic Writing

Dr. Erkan Tümkaya

This workshop is designed to empower PhD students to navigate the evolving landscape of AI technologies in academia. Through interactive sessions, participants will critically explore the impact of generative AI (GenAI) on academic writing, learning, and critical thinking. The workshop emphasizes responsible AI use as a supportive tool, not a replacement for intellectual processes, while addressing ethical concerns, biases, and limitations. Participants will engage in hands-on activities, reflections, and discussions to enhance their AI writing skills and develop strategies for integrating AI responsibly into their academic work. The workshop will take place with 12-16 participants.
