Have you always wanted to improve you statistical analysis skills? Have you downloaded R, but never opened it? Do your hands start to sweat when you’re just thinking about math?

If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to at least one of these questions, fear no more! The statistics study group is here to help!

We’re a group of MA students, PhDs and Postdocs who meet up regularly to read about and practice statistics together. This semester’s topics include correlation, regression, t-tests, ANOVAs and advanced topics, such as mixed effects models. We prepare by reading up on a topic, then discuss and practice together by analyzing data in R. Whenever possible, we use data from our own projects and apply what we’ve learned to our current (and potential future) research. No calculator necessary!

If you’re interested, please send us a quick e-mail (kyla.mcconnell/julia.mueller @anglistik.uni-freiburg.de) and we’ll get you caught up. We’re always happy to see new faces!
