Agentic Work with University LLMs

“This workshop is a hands-on introduction to connecting local and open harnesses such as opencode or hermes to Freiburg’s university LLMs via the OpenWebUI API. Doing so allows users to employ the models for agentic work, i.e., using tool calling, access to local files, loops and skills to accomplish a given goal. If cautiously and strategically applied, agentic work with university models can expand one’s capabilities in research, teaching, and administration. Possible use cases include managing one’s files or one’s workflow (e.g., finding and collecting specific information across multiple files, renaming PDF files in a uniform way), conducting text or data analysis including visualizations, and creating dashboards, websites, apps, and tools.”
